About Me
Hi there, it's sure is a pleasure to have you visit my website to learn more about me and things that I like to do. I suppose I should start by telling you I was born and raised in a small town called Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I still live here and I really enjoy all the fine people who are so nice to me as I explore this world and grow my own talents.
I feel like the first thing you should know is that I have a big passion for all things tie-down roping and western. I really enjoy the lifestyle of cowboys and I have become a big fan of western history and culture. Whether you're talking about John Wayne, Black Beauty or roping technique, I have a great passion to learn more.
In my time on this earth with the help of others I have taught myself how to rope, how to ride, how to play guitar, painting techniques, video editing, graphic design, and even web design. Some of the special people that have helped me on my journey are my family, my friends and my teachers. I am endlessly thankful for their patience and love for me as continue my quest to become a professional rodeo tie-down roper, painter, guitar player and singer.

Roping
I first started roping in 1994 when I first watched the Calgary Stampede on TV and when Joe Beaver won a calf roping championship there.
Right now I have over two different types of ropes that I like to use, my favorite is the calf roper's rope as if for calf roping.
I have seen three rodeos in my life and those were in Calgary, Las Vegas and Florida and my favorite roper is mostly Joe Beaver and also my favorite cowboy is John Wayne in the movies.
If you would like to see more of my roping, please visit my COWBOYMACLEOD channel on YouTube.
Painting
I first started painting around approximately 1997. I was inspired to start painting because of the Murdo MacLeod painting "The Grace".
Since I began making my own paintings, I have produced over 58 pieces. I primarily use watercolor/acrylics, but I have also used markers and crayons.
My favorite subjects to paint are self-portraits of me roping a calf for calf roping at the rodeo, a cowgirl calf roper, landscapes, music, Black Beauty and great cowboys and cowgirls.

Guitar Playing & Singing
I first started taking guitar lessons in September 2005 from Paul Lowe. My passion for guitar comes from my love for all the great music I was exposed to growing up.
My favorite artist is John Denver.
My favorite songs are "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Sunshine on my Shoulders", "Follow Me" and "Rocky Mountain High".
I'd like to say a special thank you to Paul Lowe, my brother Sheumais, Jason Spracklin and Bill Grover for helping me fine tune in my skills over the years.
I've had the pleasure of playing at the following events:
-
Antigonish Fall Fair
-
James Smeaton's wedding reception
-
St. James United Church Old Stump Frolic
-
St. James United Church
-
Dream Catcher's

Computer Work
I first started doing computer work approximately 1999 when I got my very own laptop from my parents.
My first projects involved using e-mails to keep to keep in touch with my friends and family both near and far. Approximately around 2006, Margot Beck introduced me to Macromedia Flash so I could start making short videos.
In September 2008, I started working with James Smeaton at Highland Multimedia to start learning website design, Photoshop, video editing and other multimedia skills.
You can view some of my computer work in my Photoshop gallery and you can also visit ropingwithwill.com to see my website work.
